Gearbox oil is thicker than normal engine oil so it'll come out faster when at working temp. here you have a video link of a how-to-do.
Re: Auto gearbox fluid change and drive shaft oil seal replacement – 02-11-2014, 04:35 PM. The fluid has to be pumped up into the box from below and the level set at between 35 °C and 45 °C. The box a a total capacity of around seven litres and VW say you need about 3 litres to do a change but I find it is much more than that.
Gearbox oils, and rear axle oils MUST be drained when hot, ideally after a good spanking - so when you do get round to getting it done, state you want the oil drained the moment you leave it at the stealers. If any oil escapes from the hydraulic fluid section of the mechatronic unit for dual clutch gearbox -J743-, it is not possible to replenish it or check the level!
