Does Dead Rising 2 have new game plus? Dead Rising and its sequels built NG+ into the fabric of the game. Dying and starting over with the levels youāve acquired isnāt just a bonus feature, itās a gameplay mechanic youāll need to survive.
Yes, after you finish the game you can select New Game and you keep your skills and levels and everything, just not your inventory.
There is no detriment that I know of to going to new Game plus, other than if you want to play at a lower level (which isn't too bad of a challenge). You can do a chapter select on any chapter & difficulty you have beaten already. I have all trophies for 4 so don't mind answering any specific questions.

Today I completed the 6th case, but would like to go back and get the other 45 % I am missing. If I try and go back to a previous case, it says it will just restart the case but I am wondering what starting a new game would do? Will I still be the same level, have all my items?

The original Dead Rising (Haven't played since) hid their true ending behind Overtime mode (which required certain actions to unlock mid-game). Overtime was part of the base game. 'fraid not buddy. Completed it yesterday for review purposes and to say the ending feels incomplete is a little bit of an understatement.
